Victorian Father Christmas
This Victorian Father Christmas is from my collection of “Gift Givers”, a series of Christmas figures from many cultures who brought gifts during the Christmas season. These were all handmade by me, at an earlier time.

Thanks for noticing the quilt. It’s made up of several quilt patterns; there are 9 blocks making up the center squares. They are “square within a square” with the center block turned “on point” and the fabric of that square has a picture of a Father Christmas fussy-cut from the fabric. It is bordered on two sides with a saw-tooth border. Binding all the squares together is lattice of “flying geese”. Then there are double borders of green and red solid fabric and a “saw-tooth” outer border.
I made this several years ago and don’t remember where I got the design idea.

Holy, that’s a LOT of work (and a lot more detail than I expected from the small corner we can see behind Father Christmas!: )
